Hey everybody, quick update to previous blog (go see previous blog if you don't know what I'm talking about in this one) Do you folks think, that since there will be most likely cash prizes (paid thru paypal of course) involved in this contest, that an entrance fee should be set up? If so, it wouldn't be anything high, like 5 dollars at ABSOLUTE most, though more then like looking at around 2-3.
Idk tbh, cuz right now I'm looking at breaking the contest into a 5-tier contest, That's right, 5 places. First place would be the grand prize of like, 100 dollars, divided into cash, and/or DA subscription. 2nd would be 75 and/DA sub, 3rd 50 and/or sub, 4th 25 and/or sub, and 5th would be 10 and/or sub. By and/or I mean that the winners can be decided to either have it all in money, or part in money and the rest paid as a sub to their account for DA.
DO NOTE HOWEVER, I'm not 100 percent definite on those prizes yet, might revise them, might not. All I know is that for stuff like that, I, personally, don't feel like a 1-3 dollar entrance fee would be THAT bad, especially considering I'd be paying for the prizes out of my own pocket, wether I do the fee's or not. Do note however, that this would be a BIG contest, not no little 1 or 2 month contest. I'd give this contest possibly at LEAST 3-4 months, if not half a year, though that of course, all depends on what ya'll think would be best. Winners, 1st thru 3rd, will also get the chance to become staff members for this group, as we are always looking, especially considering that even though we DO on occassion lose people, by a weekly basis, we have about 10 people or so join, that and honestly, there's been alot of times I've had to delete submissions to have a group joined with ours cuz there's not enough active staff members to help me vote on said requests.

Traditional Art Folder Rules
Hello my Fellow Deviants,
I just wanted to remind everyone that the Traditional Art folder is for Traditonal Artworks ONLY. This basically means you used NO electronic Medium ie..a computer, a camera etc during the process of CREATING the artwork. I have removed almost 400 artworks from the traditional art folder but I might have missed a few...lol as now I am cross-eyed from going through the folder.
When you submit I simply check the deviant category (simple as mousing over your image) you submit to against the folder type. If they don't match you will be declined. If you are submitting because youve reached your limit f
New Journal for all to enjoy
So many of you have probably already noticed, and if not, then you'll notice after this.
We've incorporated some new updates into the group to help cope with the lack of admins I had for the longest time, in running this group.
Thanks to corpor8chic however, we have at least one other dedicated admin to help run it. We are still willing to accept others however, to help lessen the load over-all, as they really have been doing more of the work then me these past few months.
If you have experience running a group, either here on DA or beyond, feel free to send a note to the group explaining why you think you would be a good fit.
Beyond that
For All Members (Read this or be banned possibly)
Okay people, this is me, your leader, your almighty sensei, your Mr. Miyagi, your dictator with the Iron Dick, writing a very important journal entry for ALL MEMBERS!!!
Due to the recent string of submission errors that has been going on for well longer then it should have been, the freedom of the group has been changed recently, to better be able to make the group manageable on multiple levels.
As some of you may or may not have noticed already, the ability to submit submissions has been cut back somewhat, only because before, I was single-handedly taking care of 100-300 submissions every 2-4 days, alone. To make matters worse, ALOT of tho
Getting better
Only been around half a year or so since last journal update folks. That being said, I'm tired of basically running this group single handedly folks. Many of you have probably noticed submissions expiring from time, I want to apologize for that to all of you, since I am alone technically here, I only have so much time each week to check on submissions. If anyone has experience with running large groups and is willing to add another to their list, please note the group and I'll look into seeing whose qualified

Seeing as how this note was posted over a week ago and you have not received much feedback, I assume things do not appear very favourable.
For me personally, I do not like the idea of a cash fee. tried something like that earlier (where the proceeds would be donated to a charity) and turnout was very low. What about just having a contest for fun (i.e., bragging rights)? Or perhaps asking for donations from some members? Donations could be in the form of points or commissions.
If you went with a $3 entrance fee and you wanted to give away cash prizes of $100, $75 and $50 to the 1st to 3rd place winners, you'd have to attract 75 entries. Even if you allow multiple entries (@ $3 apiece), that's still quite a large turnout. In my opinion.
The idea is a fair one. I just don't know how popular it would be. But I also don't want you to have to payout the cash prizes out of your own pocket either.
